The high incidence of complications and deaths, the growing financial costs associated with this pathology naturally dictate the need to treat these patients from the standpoint of a multidisciplinary approach, taking into account the correction of factors leading to increased intra-abdominal pressure, determining the timely moment of surgical decompression, searching for new or improving existing surgical techniques.
