Medical and social indicators were investigated during the survey of 108 patients with atherosclerosis of extracranial arteries and arteries of the lower extremities aimed at surgical treatment. It has been established that the body mass index has the greatest influence on the development of postoperative complications, which makes it possible to recommend the use of this indicator as a predictor of adverse events in patients with atherosclerosis in the postoperative period
