During the study, 90 patients aged 18 to 36 years who underwent orthodontic treatment with a bracket system were examined for signs of gum recession. As a result of the study, a clinical gum recession in the area of individual teeth was detected in 15.6% of the examined persons. CLTC analysis of the patients showed that in all cases of gum recession, there was a loss of bone tissue the examined area even before the start of orthodontic treatment. A thin periodontal biotype was detected in 85.7% of patients, which could be considered as a predisposing factor for the development of periodontal complications during orthodontic treatment.
