The review provides anatomical and histological features of parathyroid glands depending on the age, gender and somatotype.A few correlations between parathyroid gland nomenclature, their connective-tissue fixative with the topography and morphological parameters of the organs in question which will make it possible to anticipate the location of parathyroid glands before the surgery and, therefore, to improve surgical interventions on thyroid and parathyroid glands.
